Welcome and thank you for your interest in Whole Body Psychotherapy!
I specialize in helping clients detangle themselves from the disruptive, relentless cycles of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and profound anxiety. Informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), I view the mind as an internal family of personality parts. Within this framework, anxiety and OCD are not flaws, but rather protective mechanisms. Obsessions, compulsions, reassurance-seeking, hypervigilance, and mental checking are understood as parts which have taken on extreme roles in an effort to prevent danger, uncertainty, or perceived harm. When these patterns are approached with curiosity rather than fear or frustration, their intensity softens, their grip loosens, and space opens for steadier, more grounded parts of you to lead with clarity and choice.
As an integrative practitioner with experience in obsessive‑compulsive presentations and complex post‑traumatic stress, I draw from evidence‑based, brain and body‑oriented approaches to address both the cognitive loops and the physiological activation that sustain emotional distress. This work attends not only to thoughts and behaviors, but also to the nervous system patterns, sensations, and survival responses that underlie compulsive urges and chronic anxiety.
My therapeutic style is patient, attuned, and compassionate, while also being direct and purposeful. Sessions are designed to foster meaningful, measurable change by increasing self‑awareness, flexibility, and confidence, and by strengthening your capacity to respond to intrusive thoughts without accommodating them—so you can navigate life with greater freedom, resilience, and a renewed sense of agency.

I believe in a whole body approach to counseling which entails using both brain-focused and body-oriented interventions in the therapeutic process. Brain-focused techniques focus on thinking patterns (cognitive therapy) while body-oriented techniques focus on physical expression and communication. If you've been in counseling before and still continue to experience distressing thoughts, emotions, memories, behaviors, or even unexplained physical symptoms - a more comprehensive approach may help.
The brain and body are connected through the autonomic nervous system and communicate through this information super highway. As such, thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall experiences are influenced by the delicate dance between the two. Working with the whole body helps to ensure cohesion with all parts of us and leads to more complete healing.
My approach to counseling is structured and intentional, while still leaving room for the flexibility that is needed for the fluid nature of therapy. Counseling sessions incorporate talk therapy, body-centered techniques, and structured interventions focused on goal achievement and forward movement in many areas of life through learning, growth, stabilization, and personal empowerment..
